MCC - Marylebone Cricket Club

Founded in 1787, Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) is based at the home of Cricket, Lord’s Cricket Ground. Its role includes safeguarding the game's laws and its Spirit.

For the Emirates Airline Twenty20 Trophy the MCC are bringing a team of top international cricketers including England Test Captain Alastair Cook!

Alastair Cook
Those in the know were saying that the tall, dark and handsome Alastair Cook was destined for great things very early on, and on the Ashes tour of 2010-11, he came good on a host of promises, scoring an incredible 766 runs in seven innings to anchor England's first series win in Australia for 24 years. In so doing, he went past 5,000 Test runs, having turned 26 on Christmas Day - the second youngest batsman to reach the landmark after Sachin Tendulkar. Two years later and further records had been broken as he became England's leading Test century-maker - hitting No. 23 against India in Kolkata, his third in three matches - and became the youngest player to pass 7000 runs

Yuvraj Singh
When all is well with Yuvraj Singh, he hits the ball as clean and long as it has ever been hit.  All is well with Yuvraj more often in limited-overs cricket, where he can be effortless and brutal at the same time,. When he started off his athleticism on the field and his canny left-arm spin made him a dream one-day player as Indian cricket went through a makeover at the turn of the century. One of the true stars of World Cricket!

Yorkshire County Cricket Club (County Champions 2014)

Yorkshire are the most successful team in English cricketing history with 32 County Championship titles, including 1 shared. The team's most recent Championship title was in 2014, their first such victory since 2001.

The current team includes many of the current England team such as Joe Root and Gary Balance. Tim Bresnan and Jonny Bairstow will be among those competing at the Emirates Twenty20.

Tim Bresnan
A powerfully built allrounder, Tim Bresnan had been tipped for higher honours since he became the youngest player in 20 years to represent Yorkshire when he debuted in 2001. It was nearly a decade later that he really announced his arrival in the big-time, however, with a phenomenal performance in the fourth Test against Australia in Melbourne in December 2010. Called into the side as a replacement for Steven Finn, and with a remit to keep the runs down, he starred with a performance of skill, pace and unrelenting accuracy. First, he played a key role in bowling Australia out for 98 in the first innings, then he sealed England's successful defence of the Ashes with 4 for 50 in the second innings

Jonny Bairstow
Bairstow was a member of the England ODI squad for their match against Ireland in August 2011. He made his debut the following month after he was called up to the final ODI against India. Playing as a specialist batsman, he scored an unbeaten 41 off just 21 balls to help England reach a Duckworth-Lewis adjusted total, and he was named Man of the Match.  On 11 October 2011 Bairstow hit a century off 53 balls as England beat a Hyderabad Cricket Association XI – during a warm up for a series against India.  On 23 February 2012 Bairstow was named man of the match in the second T20 of the series between Pakistan Cricket Team and England Cricket Team at Dubai International Cricket Stadiu

Sussex County Cricket Club (Emirates Airline Twenty20 Champions 2014)

Sussex County Cricket Club is one of the oldest in England. Also known as the Sussex Sharks, the Club has won the county championships 4 times over the past 10 years.

The club’s star players include:

Luke Wright
A right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium bowler, played for England since 2007 and Indian Premier League (IPL) for 5 seasons ( the Pune Warriors in 2013 ).

Matt Prior
One of England’s best players in the 2012 home series against West Indies and South Africa and in the historic series victory in India at the end of last year.

Lancashire County Cricket Club

Based at Old Trafford ground in Manchester, Lancashire won the English Championship in 2011, for the first time in 77 years!

Coached by former England Team Director, Peter Moores, Lancashire regularly contest the final stages of the ECB Domestic T20 competition

The club’s star players include:

Alviro Petersen
A right-hand opening batsman who forged a path to Test cricket in 2010 - nine years after his professional debut. It seemed as if he had turned his back on his country in 2011 after signing a county contract with Glamorgan but was picked again at the start of 2012 and has now cemented his place at the top order in international cricket
.

Ashwell Prince
A crouching lefthander with a high-batted stance and a grimace reminiscent of Graham Gooch, Ashwell Prince was helped into the national team by South Africa's controversial quota system, although he quickly justified his selection by top-scoring on debut with a gutsy 49 against the mighty Australians in 2001-02. That innings, and a matchwinning 48 in the third Test at Durban, seemed to shed his reputation as a one-day flasher.
